ibiza fr tdi or petrol fr????

they're not the same price now on the facelift :(
So diesel benefits must be weighed out against the price difference.

personally, we're going diesel.
Similar performance, better economy, and higher residual value,

and, if you get beat in a race, you can get away with saying "it's a diesel, wha did you expect?"

I'm a petrol head.....and I bought a diesel because my old petrol was worth very little and was costing me a fortune. I wanted a car that could last for along time and wouldn't cost the earth and it HAD to be quick. :)

They have their place but if you're looking at the relms of sensibility then you'd be foolish not to try one

A well remapped TDI FR is a remarkable thing - 50mpg but with more torque than a 911 GT3 - theres also a lot of fun to be had pulling away from some BMW then for him to see a TDi badge on the back haha

It really depends on personal pro's and con's. Which bits do you like/dislike about both?

I love my TDI FR, great on fuel, generally average at 45mpg and great on performance and torque.

It really surprises idiots who see the TDI badge and think hmm slow car, they soon change their mind when my pedal goes down.

I do 60mile round trip every day, and still love driving the car.

And the big benefit is if later on you want more power, whizz it to custom code dealer and for £500 you get on average another 50% bhp.

TDI all the way and you certainly don't need to do 20,000 pa as the changeover point. Better resale value and ever increasing fuel costs (that will further widen the resale gap) means TDI is the only choice nowadays

I test drove both the 130 PD tdi FR and the Cupra tdi on saturday... both very good cars, the Cupra was outstanding and the FR was great too, but I am biast as we drove Cupra first...

Both were good on acceleration, didn't sound like a diesel once you were moving and were comfy too...SEAT diesels do seem very good... if not a little pricey...
