Ibiza DAB options for the PID system

Anyone know whether its possible to get DAB installed in an Ibiza that's compatible with the Portable Nav unit? Given VAGs fondness for offering DAB throughout their range of companies I was surprised not to be given the option, as much as I love the bluetooth streaming capability it would be nice to listen to my preferred BBC 6 radio every now and then.

I suppose my options are limited to Parrot type devices, unless anyone knows any better?

Thanks, didn't know that. It'll be interesting to see whether its available as a retrofit. I had a look at Conmects2 AutoDAB but it seems like a compromise, only available through steering wheel controls.

That's about the same price as the connects2 not including installation. I'll hang on for SEATs solution and make a decision then. Cheers for the info!

Just after collecting my Ibiza Fr Edition which only comes with one option ie. spare wheel. Find that they now offer DAB radios on the entire Ibiza range except the Edition for just £175. On checking with my dealer the complete radio with a new aerial will cost £450. So I got an add-on Pure Highway DAB convertor
now fitted and connected.. It uses a spare non used FM slot.. and appears on the pid as Highway pure.
Also of interest is the stick on sill guards from Richard Grant Mouldings. They are solid plastic mouldings that follow the complete contours of the sills.. Cost for a two door version was £39 inc p&p.

So what's the score, are the DAB radios available for all the range for £175, except your model which costs more? Or do they all cost £175, but fitting and aerial brings them up to £450 total to install on any model? Your post was a little ambiguous ;) I'd rather not have an aftermarket thing sticking out of the dash if I can help it, even if they are styled a bit more smartly than a Halfords special!

I've got some stainless steel 2 part sill protectors, got em from ebay for about £45 and they've got Ibiza etched onto them. They look a little scruffy now but scrub up well and do a decent job of an easily scratched area.

Correct the DAB option at £175 is available across the range with the exception of the Edition version of the FR.
The cost of £450 would apply if you removed the present am/fm radio/cd unit and fitted the dab/fm/am radio/cd unit.
The Highway Pure conversion fits just to the left of the cigar lighter which provides power and its only 12x7x3 cm comes with a very small hardly noticable stick on window aerial, and performs extremely well with the proviso that ALL dab radios are subject to interference and drop outs due to patchy coverage and blockages due to country conditions.
All in all bearing in mind the price of the unit I am more than happy with this solution.

Ah right I'll perhaps enquire about getting one fitted during its next service. Thanks for the info, nothing on SEATs site about it so I wouldn't have found out otherwise.
