Ibiza Cupra TDI vs FR TDI engine/chassis differences?

Right, I'm sure many of you are going to say that there are so many posts on this but I've genuinely had a look and can't seem to find the answers I'm after.

with my FR TDI being 130PD and the cupra TDI being 160PD, I'm wondering what the specific differences are with more specific attention being on what the engine differences are!

I've seen some people say its just a map difference and others say its a bigger turbo and what not but what is the true definite answer?

When I remap my FR, it will go to 175/180ish yet a cupra tdi can be remapped to 190ish so surely its not just a mapping difference?

I know that the intake pipe is larger etc (which I do have fitted to my FR) but what else?

If anyone can help me out, list the specific engine differences between the two including for example what turbo each one uses etc (if there is a difference in turbos!)

If anyone also wants to list the chassis/handling differences, that'd be appreciated too!

Thanks in advance guys

Some things I know are:

-PD160 has uprated front mounted intercooler
-Stiffer and lower shocks
-Stiffer suspension bushes
-Bigger front brakes (312mm vs 288mm)

The FR TDI (ASZ/BLT)

KKK K39 Turbo / Garrett GT1749V
Side Mounted Intercooler

The Cupra TDI (BUK/BPX)

Garrett GT1749VB (Which has a slightly larger intake and exhaust bore than the KKK K39 / GT1749V)
Front Mounted Seat Sport Intercooler
Slightly Shorter Ratio 02M 6 Speed Gearbox
Stiffer and lower shocks
Stiffer suspension bushes
Bigger front brakes (312mm 4-pot vs 288mm 1-pot)
Larger 17" Alloys to house the brakes

This is the exact answer I wanted! Thanks mate!

They also came with 312mm single pots in some countries, where I come from the 4-pot AP calipers were optional

Okay great, and what about the standard cupra TDI turbo, what kinds of BHP can it be pushed to?

between 200-210hp

Yup.. stock car remapped to 210hp.. but note the stock clutch starts to slip over 300 ftlbs or about 200hp.. and an uprated clutch is £1k fitted, £600 DIY.. so expensive for those last few hp.. Just so you get the picture.

You're right. He just quoted the ASZ/BLT turbo being just a KKK K39 unit. However, the GT1749V and GT1749VB are interchangeable with very minor clocking to the turbo.

There's other minor differences too in the cosmetics just for info purposes in case anyone searches in the future...

Smoked sidelight pods
Clear rear lights
Cupra logo seats and black interior
Cupra black red steering wheel and leather handbrake cover.

Facelifts in addition get Cupra logo on gearknob and B pillar covers.
