Ibiza cupra TDI 230 ?

Is it possible to apply the AMD teknic 230bhp conversion to the SEAT. They do one for the golf PD140 but the SEAT ibiza cupra already has around 174bhp in reality so could this be done cheaper than the 2.5k they charge ?

Also anyone got any sound samples of Diesels with sports exhausts fitted ??

How hard would it be to take the ibiza cupra from 160 (174) to 220 ? a 50bhp increase ? i know revo do 200bhp what do i need to add to get another 20bhp ? apart from an uprated clutch (i assume i dont need one of those if i just opt for a standard 200bhp remap).

My guess would be: REVO + Miltek with sports cat / downpipe for 210. And maybe larger injectors for 220bhp ?

You can easy get about 260-270 in your car. Drop in a 1.8t engine and your away!!!!!

Cant really see the point of 240bhp diesels., not so much for the power, but the torque they must produce would simply make the car undrivable in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear. Anything close to 200bhp with 330lbft is plenty in an Ibiza.

Better bet would be to buy a proper fast car.

Very true SBF, mine is actually de-tuned a little for the sake of the clutch etc and its still very driveable.

If your going to mod an Ibiza Cupra diesel then a remap and exhaust should net some healthy gains and still remain driveable. Not really much need to go a whole lot further IMHO.

it depends how it is done.

problem with TDI is you have a relatively narrow rev range - ~1700rpm->4500rpm is about as good as you'll get. (my peak torque with my fairly modded PD130 is at 1700rpm..)
Adding a bigger turbo is going to increase lag..which reduces that range futher.

Companies like Revo, AMD, and jabba create their maps to make the car as driveable as possible, which means giving power over as much of the available range as possible, and they can do things to limit the torque, resulting in a fairly flat torque curve.

So you could end up with something like: http://badger.ing.me.uk/torque.jpg where the peak torque wasn't record breaking, but it was held over a very large amount of the rev range...

but as SBF said, it is difficult to see the point of them, unless you have a specific reason to do it...you can get close to 200bhp relatively cheaply, with remap (be it Revo, AMD or Jabba), you have the FMIC as standard with the ibiza cupra, and then get a milltek exhaust (it sounds lovely, I have no sound clips, but at the recent JBS rrday, it got a lot of approving nods...its no ABF, or screamer like RobT's car, but it sounds butch, and ace for a diesel)...and going beyond that gets expensive...

Just been browsing the Upsolute web site and they quote the 160bhp diesel Ibiza to have gains after chipping of 208bhp and 370nm of torque, thats with just a chip. Not bad for £300 or whatever it is....

Yeah I wouldn't drive it with that much torque!

Revo's map saw 300lb/ft on my mum's, and she's more than happy with that. I think anything more than that is asking for transmission trouble.

Is there much difference between the Revo, Jabba and AMD remaps? I have a 54 Cupra Diesel and was thinking of revo?

Also the miltek exhaust mentioned earlier.. is that fairly straight forward swap and where's best to get one from? If I fitted a new air filet to the Diesel would that make any difference to the sound as on petrol cars?

i wish i had a dyno readout but i never got one off him.well over 300 lbft of torque.rediculously quick, clutch suffered though.ash any of the lads on here from lisburn, banbridge direction and they will have heard bout it.had a 130 sport 2 but it was standard.

im serious, wouldnt lie 2 ya.this biy renouned for gettin the most out of the cars, thats maybe why reliability is an issue with some people on here who have been there, lol
Can you type that again and put it in English this time so i know what the hell your saying. By they way no way would a PD160 make 220 bhp with just a remap on a reliable dyno as the OEM Garret turbo isnt big enough to push enough air.

The PD160 engine set up is practically the same as the PD150 and your lucky to get 190bhp out of them so i cant see it being much higher than that.

i have a hybrid turbo and have just scraped the 220bhp
