just wondering what kind of price i would be looking at to go hybrid? i have a couple k to spend on the upgrade, im currently on the look out for a decent k03s but really like the sound of around 280 bhp in ma little cupra. would that amount cover it? bearin in mind all work would have to be done by a professional as thats way over my head, ive read some threads on whats needed but couldnt find prices

soz i must have mssed that 1, ok so ill need 2k for the hybrid treatment, then around a thousand for brake upgrade? and also a uprated cluch. so around £3500 mark?
any thing else i need? ive read the internals are good for over 300+ bhp.
how reliable will the car be after hybrid? as it will still be my daliy drive, aswell as my bike which only comes out in the sun (not often then)

Without hesitation, I can honestly say yes. All comes down to the same old though; horses for courses.

I had massive doubts about the results a hybrid K03S would offer compared against an equivalent monetary value BT setup once I saw how the bills started spiralling (i.e. IHI VF34 or GT28RS) but this turbo never fails to put a grin on my face.

The way in which the power is delivered on tap with such a huge kick of torque right down in the rev range makes it a hooligan car, and childish as that may be, I like it :D

I honestly think people get too hung up on numbers, as I also used to. Don't forget how much torque this little thing is kicking out - often more than other BTs I have seen which make it an interesting underdog.

The car has the legs to pick up speed against cars with up to 100 more BHP until you're at ridiculous speeds where out-and-out power will prevail and the K03 can simply flow no more. It's a car you need to go out in to appreciate fully, just purely the way in which the abundance of torque is thrown in instantaneously leaving the wheels screeching and scrabbling. God I need to grow up :p

From someone who's got the t-shirt my main words of advice would just be to think carefully what YOU want from a car - don't chase numbers as they only tell half a story. What power delivery do you want?

Don't be fooled into thinking this is a cheap way to get near-BT performance because it's not. 14k later and you have my car where it stands today, but that's doing everything and built with performance and reliability in mind. Others may choose to do it cheaper, that's up to them :)
