Hello all. You MK2 people seem very focussed on tyres and know alot about them, not alot of info seems available in the MK1 section.
I have done a fair amount of research between 2 tyres that I was interested in, Sessanta's & T1-R's both of which I have gone off of due to the reportedly soft sidewalls. IMO there's nothing worse than this and a double entry feel to a corner is scary to say the least. Out of the two, I would say that the Vredestein had the more positive reviews but there are a fair amount of reports that this tyre can't plant the power down on a dyno which may sound silly, but this is important to me as I like to check things are going right when tuning.
Now, I read the reviews back to back with a review about my current tyre, FK452 and to be honest, these sound a little better even though they're cheaper but they're struggling to put the power down on my LCR quite a bit.
R1Rs at £200 per tyres are way over budget and to be honest GY F1 Assy are too but if they're much better than the above, I may have to bite the bullet.
So what do I do? Should I be considering another tyre or get a new set of Falkens which seem to hold their own among some premium competition? All I read about Yoko Spec 2's, Bridgestone RE050 (or whatever they're called), ot Conti Sport Contacts is that they're crap...so i'm really stuck.
I should note that since the last time I changed the tyres, I have a stiffer engine mount so that may help with traction.
Thanks for the info in advance.
