i have some subs, in a pre-made sub encloser...and ideas on fixing it down, i used to own a pug, n made a false shelf, and made everything tight so nothing would move, but cant really do this with the leon because of the spare tyre being IN the booth rather tha under the car...

and ideas? pictures will be a great help

Hope this pic works...first time ive added a pic to a post.

You cant see how ive fixed it in,as this pic was taken before I did it........but basically Ive found the best and easy way is to make a sorta mdf frame for want of a better word, around the bottom of the box.

Its made out of 3 seperae pieces of mdf, one down each side and one across the front. The wood is held in place inbetween the sides of the boot and the box, and the strip in front of the box is simply stuck to the carpet with gaffa tape.

The blue material have recovered the floor in, is simply cut to fit the shape of boot and not stuck down so if i ever need to take it out for access to spare, its not too much of an issue.

Sorry I cant explain what ive done better, hope its of help to ya, I mite try n take another pic if i get some free time in nex couple days!

just basicly make the same as before but make it so it can be easily removed. its quite easy to do. or you could try bolting it to the back of the seats so all you have to do is fold the seat down.

Take out the carpet from the boot floor, measure it and nip down to B&Q to get a big enough sheet of MDF.

Lay the carpet on top of the MDF, draw around it and use it as a template to cut the MDF to the right shape. Test it to make sure it fits and you can actually get it in and out of the car.

Get yourself some spray glue and some carpet to cover the wood in. Glue the carpet to the MDF floor you have just made and make sure it looks tidy. Autoleads do some carpet that is a very similar colour to the standard stuff, so nice and subtle looking.

Once done, pop it all into the boot. Leave the original carpet in the boot and place this on top though, as this helps to stop the MDF floor from knocking and banging around. When it's all in there, remove the subs from there box (I'll explain in a minute...) and put the sub box where ever you want it, making sure it doesn't foul the rear seats closing or the parcel shelf.
Once you're happy with the location, screw the box to the newly made floor from the inside of the box. One screw in each corner should be enough.

Now put your subs back in the box, stand back and admire your handy work :)

It's only a basic false floor, but it does the job! You can use this later on if you decide you want to go one step further and turn it into a box to house your amps and other bits and bobs.

kinda similar to what i had in my previous, car, but i made a frame underneath the false floor as im a carpenter haha...but yer man dat sounds sweet...just popped to bass junkies n they say they would fit it howver i wanted, so im thinkin, bracket on the side wall, leaving a couple mm gap to slide out the carpetted original floor
