Back from the dead
Was toying with the idea of fitting an Impreza style spray bar on the S3, and was thinking about using the washer fluid reservoir to supply the water as I have next to no space left in my engine bay after mods.

Question, does anyone know how much water comes out of the air con system when it has been on for a mid-long journey.

Problem with many of these water cooling systems is they run out after a while, and requi9re topping up.

Now whilst I appreciate air con will reduce engine power by a bit, I was wondering whether if left on, if I could capture the moisture in a trap, whether there would be enough for the short term use of something like a spray bar, or whether there just wouldn't be enough. There is quite a bit of water on the garage floor after a good run.

I don't want to fit an uprated I/C, and can't make up my mind with respect to WMI.

heres what i used:

-2 washer jets(get the ones that spay a fine fan type mist)
-2m of 4mm tubing, 1 x grommet, 1x barbed take-off, silicone sealant,
-1x one way check valve(or else it will syphon out lots of fluid if the jets are below the tank which they probably will be, mount as close to the nozzles as possible to speed up spray time and minimise water loss)
-2-3m or 1mm wire, 30A relay and a button to activate it(i used a funk button in my mk4 golf http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w56/Murr_2007/ad7250b2.jpg)

very simple to install there nothing fancy it just wets the intercooler when i press the button

yes it's hooked upto the washer bottle, i have not really used it much but i did try once when i was logging it and it dropped the temps by 1 degree so not really much. that was on a hot day too.
