Hey folks, I’m coming back to the fold after many years of being away. Since I sold my stage 3 Leon cupra R Tfsi I’ve had an APR stage 2 golf r mk7 and for the last 3 years have owned a stage 2 bmw M2 (which I still have abs will keep). A deal has come up I’m struggling to refuse on a mk2 Leon cupra 2007 (57) so will be back here. It’s a chronic yellow example BOG standard with 107k. Aesthetically it needs a drivers front wing and a good machine polish to bring it back along with a few dents. It’s also hunting in idle which after doing the blow test showed the PCV valve had failed (common as we know). Plan is PCV valve, diverter valve change for a REV G. Cam follower replacement. Spark plug change and potentially a remap. Is there anything else I should look out for at this mileage? The timing belt and water pump replacement was carried out at 80k miles. VCDS shows a fault code for mass air flow deviation. I think it maybe down to a dump valve fitted to the car which is a sin on these vehicles as it messes up the air flow for recirc.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers guys

Rear alignment bolts could well be seized up, check the rear tyres to see if they are wearing more on the inside.

Nice we do like a yellow mk2 round here apparently the yellow ones came from the factory faster then any other colour. I’m 60% sure this is not accurate information but sounds good at car meets.

Snap!

I bought mine about 7- 8 months ago from my mate's dad, I knew that I needed new brake pads all round. but I decided to go drilled & grooved discs all around too. Had my Cambelt & Water pump done straight away, I believe these engines **** themselves if it snaps. whereas some different engines do not. Don't know if that's entirely true but for me, it was peace of mind.

Very nice really makes me want to keep my yellow shell they look so good in yellow. The colour really grew on me and it was so easy to keep nice and clean in the summer.
Simple mods look so good front splitter black wheels and lowered just like mine was. Fair play.

Looks good mate (y) what wheels are those? Think I've seen them in another post, really like them.

Mine looks okay-ish aesthetically but I'm starting to get some bad rust on the driver's wing, need to get it done as It's letting the car down, and my side skirts are missing caps which look god awful at the mo. after that i'd be happy with mine.

Good to see your's on track, I hope to take mine sometime soon!

They’re compomotive th2 mate. I absolutely destroyed the front wheels driving pushing it onto the trailer too when I bent the Valves so wasn’t a great day as they were brand new special order in that spec. Yea car went well on track till it jumped timing at 120mph… I had no confidence in that bwj I’ve said it from the start. I did t want to repair it either and have lusted after a inferi black mk2 for awhile so I brought one from another member on here with the plan of swopping my good parts from the yellow one to the black one. But unfortunately I’ve not been in the best of health this year so haven’t been able to work on my car. Hoping to make a start as soon as I’m able to. I’ve sold the yellow shell to someone who’s going to 4x4 it so I’m happy it’s not being scrapped and still going to be around.

Ahh another one in the best colour. Welcome back to the fold. when I have had lumpy idle on mine I have used electrical cleaner on the maf sensor as sometimes they get dirt/excess oil on them. I have an induction kit on mine so can't recall where it is on a standard one.
