How's this for MOT bad luck?

This you just couldn't write.......swapped my winter wheels back to the normal summers just yesterday, and whilst each wheel was off, checked everything with regard to brakes, shock absorbers and springs etc . All OK.

Drove 5 miles this morning to get the car up to temperature, and straight in for the MOT at 0830, and in those last 5 miles, it has popped a rear coil spring on a pot hole and so failed the MOT - no advisories or any other faults either........ Absolutely gutted having checked everything over beforehand. Getting both rear springs done before picking it back up at 5.30pm

Oh well, **** happens I suppose!

I had a windscreen collect a huge "bullet hole" on the way to an MOT once; In an uncharacteristic flurry of quick thinking, I got on the phone and cancelled it.
I feel your pain.

Oh no - can't imaging the size of a pot hole to damage a spring and not your wheel?
Surely to fail it must have been heavily corroded? which seems unlucky on a 2019 car?

No corrosion, clean shiny metal on the break. Thankfully no tyre or wheel damage. Wouldn't mind, but it's only done 31000 miles too, told car is spotless, faultless and one of the best of it's age he's ever seen

I was less than impressed when my car reported an ABS problem as I reversed it out of the garage on the way to its MOT, absolutely gutted, how could it do that to me!
Still, it got another clean MOT after it was fixed, I know the root cause of that wheel sensor failure was corrosion on the back face of the bearing, so that will need replacing when the weather gets warmer, along with replacing that new ABS sensor if it lasts that long!
