How to Update RNS 510???

How do you update the map on the RNS 510,
went into my Seat dealer they said its easy buy this sd card with the new map on??
My unit has not got a SD card slot??
He says its on the back??
took unit out no slot, so he says no idea sorry??
So where do I go from here, all the firmware upgrades and maps I have found on other sites are all for the rns units with SD cards

Irk don't think you have and rns 510 unless it's an aftermarket upgrade, your going to need a new map cd

the SEAT RNS510 doesnt have a SD card reader at all (either on the back or the front), the VW one does.

That doesnt matter any way as you can update them via the CD/DVD drive. Have done mine a couple of times (mine is the VW version). Basically all you do is fire up the radio, put the DVD in and it asks if you want to update the maps, say yes and then it copies them to the built in Hard Drive.

are you sure you are looking for the RNS 510 maps, v8 is out now and is usually in ISO format

That is the same, put the ISO onto a DVD and put it in, it will then update the firmware but to be honest I think the SEAT unit gets left in the dark with firmware updates and its the VW one that gets all the new updates.

I havent seen a Firmware update for the SEAT one for a while.

Ok has anyone updated the map to v8, i have got the v8 iso and made the disc but the unit just ejects the disc and says disc error??

yes I am on v8.

The first disc burnt didnt work, I then set the write speed to 2x, the disk then successfully installed.

Also make sure you are using decent DVD discs as it is really fussy.

done that, slow as poss, using tdk dvd+rdl, do you have your copy

also what firmware are you runnin?

cannot remember what FW version I am running, its 3xxx.

because I have the VW version which keeps getting updates unlike the SEAT version (which I mentioned above).
