Is there a way of removing this pollen filter cover without having to first remove this media box

The 3 prongs at the bottom look like they are just locating prongs. Meaning it's clipped from above. But I can't see a way of getting to them... Unless I'm missing something. Could someone please enlighten me.....

Thanks in advance...

You have to pull off the trim surrounding the electronics control unit. It's secured by five spring clips. Needs a good tug. Then release three tabs at the top of the filter cover. Note the orientation of the filter before removing it.

Hope this helps.

Yes, put your hand to the back of it and pull it forward. It takes a bit of force but it will pop off.

It'll reveal the 3 lugs at the top of the filter housing and which you can use a flat screwdriver to push down as you pull the tab on the front of the housing towardsyou.

Look at the 1st photo in this thread, on the cars with the tech pack (CD player in the glove box) the top clips are not visible on the housing which would make it almost impossible to get access to the actual filter.

Ahh..... it should be changed at least once a year. I usually do mine twice a year. I actually changed it yesterday.

I find changing it at this time of year helps prevent the windows steaming up in the evenings when the temperature drops.
