Nope, it is not a random orbital buffer, just orbital which means it spins on the same spot all the time, so a risk of burning your paint. The Porter Cable is random, which means as well as spinning, it goes up and down, side to side as well.

thx robdon, b6mfd, dont use that machine on your car, i can nearly guarantee you will damage your paint unless you kcow what your doing, a pc is a far better choice for people like us

I tried Zymol Auto Wash shampoo today, been using Megs for years and it's always been a high sudsing foamy car shampoo. I much prefer the Zymol, doesn't foam up anywhere near as much and the water seems to sheet off better when rinsing it off. At only £5.99 from Halfords it seems very good VFM, should last for ages as it's only half a capful per bucket.

Smells funky too with lemon, banana and coconut oils in it!

Buy one test it, use it on someone elses car if not happy take it back. Don't be put off by the B&Q bit. The item itself does the job but the attachments can be bettered by third party equipment.

The megs clay bar did not remove the tar spots on mine either, took off recent ones that were still soft but ones that had been on for a while had to be removed with petrol. Sounds extreme but works ok. :)

nope mine either, tried alsorts for the last 6 months to get it off.
today in halfords got 2 for 1 on all turtle wax products, got some free turtle wax bug and tar remover and thought id try it.

:-o

spray on (slightly foamy) leave for one min and i rubbed off with one of them sponges with a mesh on, made every bit come off with ease with hardly any rubbing, made the tar very soft.

thats tar thats been on for a long time.

leaves the paint hazy to look at which is actually turtle wax polish, buffed up lovely

All Sonus stuff - acrylic glanz, spritz, wunder wasch and some more pads. All to compliment the Klasse AIO and glaze I've just started using. Also ordered some P21S from Alex too, apparently it looks awesome over the top of AIO and SG!

the sfx pads are made to work with the sonus sfx polish/ wax range, they can be used with all other polishes etc too, the sfx pads seem a bit more dense, i dont really like them, and alot of other people prefer the das pads too, dont get e wrong there good, i just prefer the das pads, i do have some 4" sfx pads and there very good (you can get the 4" pads in the das style)

Look here: http://www.sonus-usa.com/

Info on the Sonus DAS pads

Orange - cutting pad for heavier duty mark removal (firm)
Green - for use with swirl removing polishes (soft)
Blue - pre-wax cleaners and fine polishes for high gloss (softest)
Buffing bonnets - for wax and polish removal

I used a green pad for SSR application, blue pad for Megs NXT and a bonnet for removal and buffing, final wipe with a Megs plush microfibre cloth.
