i had ordered upgraded pads at the time but they took ages to come through (different supplier).

I do the odd night navigation rally and I have to say these brakes are bloody good!

Extra bite when you first go to the brake and no fade.

I think I need to do a full bleed again - going to put my uprated pads on tis weekend with any luck.

I'll let you know how I get on.

The difference in the caliper size is huge too!

But the piston size is exactly the same so in theory the calipers themselves dont offer any better braking.

And who said Hammerite cant look good?

I think it is the extra diameter of the disc that gives the increased performance.

That green looks awesome on there mate!

The only VAG specialist i know of is TC Garage near Copthorne.

I haven't used them but I did have a look around - they seemed to know what they were doing.

Mine just arrived today but they're for Christmas so it'll be a while before they go on. Which pads did you end up getting because I might as well do it properly?

I went for Some Ferrodo DS series pads.

Haven't had the chance to fit them yet though.

I got my callipers and carriers incluing hoses a few months ago for £100 delivered (still sitting in a box like aimez's!) from a company called PSI Tuning. They're based in Newcastle iirc.

I've seen deals for the Mintex discs an pads on ebay for about 60-70 quid..which is very cheap. However i've been told that the pads create excess dust and also squeek a lot. I think the discs are ok but it's just the pads that are poor. The Ferrodo ds pads are highly recommened by everyone that uses them, but they are quite pricey.

Price has went up £10 in a week for the Brakes posted then. I got mine for under £200 posted with the EBC discs from their website. E-mail [email protected] because he told me to make sure I told them the prices he'd quoted me when I rang up.
