Fairly staight forward.

Remove all the steering wheel colum cvers
remove steering wheel
remove coller on steering coloum
undo a few clips
remove last pieces that are in the way
then swap out the ignition switch.

It's a bit like a puzzle to be honest. I managed it in about an hour. Only sticky point is the Coller, make sure you have a puller and a set of mole grips to give you a bigger surface area to grasp on to.

Also a hammer and old socket to whack it back on with. Also test the key in the switch before reassemly as some after market switches are not so well made... As i found out.

There's holes at the rear of the steering wheel which if you put a flat blade screwdriver in and locate the clip, move to the side and it will release the spring clip holding the airbag, repeat on other side then take off, then its just a case of unplugging the cable.

I've had mine off loads of times and always fear of the bag going off in my hand.

Ps remember to disconnect the battery

Another airbag safety tip,

DON'T EVER SIT IN THE CAR WHEN REMOVING AIRBAGS! I.e infront of the explosion!

kneeling outside the car undo clips with right hand, hold air bag with left, if it goes off when youve got it unsecured you don't want the explosion in your face! Using this method only your left hand will be hurt, leaving the right hand free to dial 999
