Modern paint is softer especially non metallics as they cant use chemicals and all good things that make the paint more durable. Have a search around the rather naff paint has been well discussed. I use swissol which helps with swirl marks and protection from bird cr*p but only to an extent, stone chips etc will always mark.

During the summer mine is washed and swissoled every week and it looks the nads, as said very mean and moody as the spitters etc all blend in. During the winter its a pain in the ar5e but I knew that was going to be the case when I bought it.

Our black LCR was waxed a week ago, with Meguairs Carnuba, and after a week on wet dirty roads it still looks awesome.
Have had black cars before, and yes it can be more noticeable when they're dirty, but if you use carnuba, and do it every couple of months, it'll stay cleaner than most other cars on the road, and keep that shine even if dirty.
And yes, black is faster and so much meaner [B)]

im the same as craig, got the metallic black LC facelift
when its clean i dont think you can really rival black for looks, then again it depends on the car.
Mine is always horrendously dirty as i do motorway driving (motorway maintenance) so after one trip to work you can hardly notice you have your lights on, i seriously have to wipe them every night when i get home. Summer will be a bit easier on the cleaning front.

It goes like this

clean = amazing
mucky = a mess
filthy = good actually as whole car looks alot darker esp wheels

but thats all preferences

I am fed up of keeping the thing clean... Had a blue Lupo a few years back and that always looked immaculate. The dolphin grey S3 was always clean looking too. I was warned about the perils of black cars, but with those red Brembos it certainly the best colour. I agree (again) black is faster and meaner.

If black stayed cleaner looking I'd have had one. First LCR I ever saw was in Listers showroom in Coventry. Black with Recaros, sat nav and it was about £21k. In showroom condition wit 15 miles on clock I was just drooling. Apart from the price (back in the day when LCR's cost proper money), the only thing that stopped me was the black demo car in the car park. Woke me up and I ordered Platinum. All the technology today and they cant make a product that can make dirt bead for a couple of weeks :cartman:
