How easy is it to do a rear wheel bearing?

Guys,

I've got my rear wheel bearing droning on, its only 6 quid or something so i bought a kit from ECP....

How easy are they to do?

Done them on a mates clio before and they fell out when we took the drum off :lol:

mines a 1.0mpi......mk2 1997, with drums :redface:

Haynes makes it look like a bitch :D

you have to punch the old ones out, and use the old one / big socket to push the new ones in.

but it's pretty straight forward.

buy some spare split pins since you won't be able to get the right tightness first time round

aye on dreams there easy.....if youve got an overside socket set (my mate had a massive set for hgv/**** knows what use they were massive)

if you can get something that fits the bearing snuggly when u hit it back in and doesnt catch the drum its easy. just a lil time consuming :)

Once you've done them, check them after 1000 miles, sometimes they loosen up and you get a tiny bit of excess movement = no MOT pass

the wheel barings are realy easy. take the hub nut off then remove the drum. you have to punch the old barings out bbut the hard bit is to get the new ones in. personally i use the old baring to put the new ones in but there are different ways.......... i'll probably be called a cowboy now lol........ what ever works use it!
