When looking at a mk4 Ibiza TDi Sport, how do you tell if its 100bhp or 130bhp?

Does the 6 speed gearbox only come on the 130bhp?

Any other things that determine the models?

I understand that there is a 115 which also has a 6 speed box (dont quote me on this).
The 130 produces 96kw; in the boot there is a small lable near the spare wheel which provides the cars details...on that it will state if it has 96KW or 75KW for the 100 BHP ibiza. On this lable i think it is the 3rd set of numbers down.
Also the obvious signs such as the engine cover having red DI and the badge on the rear having the same. Do not rely on these as they are easy to change.
hope it helps.

The engine letters and the lable in the boot are the key ways to check...
As i discovered when buying my 130; many people are selling the 110 as the 130 so it is worth checking all areas that people have mentioned. On the 02 130 i am convinced that all the badges have a red Di but on newer ones (as with golfs) the badge may be all silver?

So does the 110 have a 6 speed box as well then?

Cheeky buggers!

Engine Code seems like the only reliable way to check.

If your planning a remap though, what are the differences between the 110 and the 130?

Where would the engine code be written?

And are there any other ways to distinguish it from a 110?

I just did a search on google for ibiza 110 TDi and the first page is all foreign, so if there is one, its probably not this country.

EDIT: I'm sure most of you know it, but I didnt so I'll post it. The 110PD engine was put in the Leon, but not any UK ibiza.

there never was a 110 pd or 115 pd, both the 110 bhp and 115 bhp used the old rotary pump. the only 1.9 pd's are 100bhp, 130 bhp 150bhp and 160 bhp

04 was the last plate 130 Sports were registered with as the FR was out in July of that year.

Externally, the 100 Sports have different centre caps, their ones have a silver background and a red bordered badge and the 130s have a black background and silver badge.

Nice to see everyone repeating what techie said too ;)

I'd say the best way to check is look at the V5C Registration Certificate (log book).
This is a picture of my log book.
I've edited out some details but if you look at the area I've highlighted you can see that the power rating of my car is listed.

If the seller can't provide the log book DON'T BUY THE CAR!

Regards Guy.
