horrid wiring

well i noticed i had a few lights out the other day so went to change them, i thought it was weird as it was tail, sidelight and brake light but al just on the driver side. put in new bulbs and switched the lights on and guess what..... pop. they blew again.

anyone have any ideas? diy job or take it to a auto sparkie?
car is a mk3 tdi 90

any help appreciated

try checking your fuses mate, they may have blown.

the fuses are all fine mate. could it be an earth problem? i just dont want to dig into all the wires if i end up looking in the completely wrong place

clean all the bulb holder up make sure there is no rust or anything, check your wires for breaks its posible one is split and shorting outr on the body

Also check the output from the voltage regulator this can cause these sort of problems (should be about 14.4v with the engine running)

all the connectors have been cleaned up, they were all free of rust and corrosion anyway but thought id clean them anyway.

ok cheers, i will try that and let you know if i get it sorted or not.
