Not the same cars but I had an LCR and Neeleyveeley on here had one too, his was std and we were on our way home after helping a fellow SCn member with his brakes (Mine was Revo'd).

We were having a play side by side on the motorway through the gears and the difference was not huge. It was like one person standing still and the other slowly walking away (if you follow ?).

Certainly not night and day...

I put the experience down to my car being down on power but on another occasion Neeleyveeley had a run with two other forum members (Vennuth and w4yne IIRC) up to Santa Pod....they had a similar play right through to 100+ and again the std LCR was close behind the remapped cars.

Then again you need massive power advantages to pish all over another car....I mean huge.

They can tell you if the code is active ;)

Not sure about fault codes?

Don't see why not?

If the Revo is new(year or less) they should not charge ;)

Best give them a call and have a chat with them.

Going to pop down tomorrow to see if the software is on there and get it vag com'd too.

He's charing me £10 which doesn't sound too unreasonable!

A good revo dealer will always check fault codes before applying the remap, so I guess most will have something to check. Mine used Vagcom.

I had an off-the-lights race with a standard Ibiza Cupra (mines REVO'd) last week sometime funnily enough. Totally left the guy for dead. He pulled up at a petrol station just down the road and was like, wtf's that got done to it?! I told him it was just REVO'd and he was amazed at the difference. He'd never even heard of REVO or this web-site. I took him for a little blast up the road and he was instantly hooked on the power difference and was on about gettin it done straight away. I gave him my local dealers phone numba and off he went!!!!

Putting stock against chipped will show varying results. If a stock Lcr goes against a revo'd one from 2nd gear 30mph upto 150mph then the gap will be very noticeable. Try the same thing from 100-150mph and its a lot less. You need time to make a gap so the lower speed you start the longer the time you have to make the gap.

My friends 306 xsi 16v was as quick as my stnd Ibiza cupra until 130mph then i went past. Once chipped it beat it from 2nd 50-60mph onwards so theres a real diff in performance between stnd and chipped. For £10 to have it looked at you cant go wrong.

After a meet at Basingstoke I tested my Revo'd LCR against Hairy's (then) standard LCR and the difference was very little.

Having big power is one thing, as long as it can be translated into power on the road. With a remap you run higher boost so you probably suffer more heatsoak than a standard car, and one other thing I was watching on TV the other day said that similar cars will suffer from wind resistance over a certain speed which is why wedgy hatchbacks need massive power gains to see significant increases in mid range acceleration.

As Madmile said, if you're going to get the benefit nail it well early on and use the early MPH's to get the rolling momentum. If you bog down even with a map you'll have a job to pull it back, the power difference between std and stage 1 is significant but not night and day.

So your £500 would be better spend on having a concorde nose fitted? ;-)

Just back from Tuning UK..

The Revo software is on there and there were two faults logged in Vag-Com..

ABS Front Right
Low Battery Voltage

The rest he said was fine, he said try new spark plugs and sometimes the MAF's can go on them. I new this and have a receipt for a replacement MAF from the previous owner.

I guess the next step is to check for boost leaks, i'll pop down to the people who usually work on my car and see if they can plug their gauge in to see whats what.

Can anyone confirm what a non leaking Revo'd ibiza should be boosting at, peak and hold?

Cheers

Cheers, the car feels quick i can't understand it, lol!

It might be the fact i was in second gear doing 50 and he was possibly in third doing the same speed?

Where i had run out of steam and the gear change just slowed me down he was just coming on boost in 3rd and tearing through the rev range

No, no logging..

It *looked* like Vag-Com wasn't registered. It was a one man band, the guy was pleasent enough i don't think i'll be going back though.
