Hissing Noise

Right i have a really big hissing noise when i put my foot down and i understand it must obviusly be a leak in the turbo system somewhere coz lose power as well. Has any1 had this problem before and is it easy 2 find where the problem is coming from as i have no ideas and not sure where 2 take it as believe there is no where local in coventry.

Please help.

look at all your vac pipes to see if theres any splits anywhere?

If you can't find the air leak try getting to Stealth Racing in Southam (not that far from you). They located a boost leak on one of the vacuum pipes on my LCR's DV.

CHeck to make sure your DV pipes are all attached properly, and that no jubilee clips have been overtightened causing leaks from pipe fractures around the clip .

Also check the pipe that goes to the charge pipe to make sure its not working its way off.

Are you still running the standard DV as well? When this fails and there can be a loud hissing when leaking through the diaphragm.

Well had standard DV on but put a forge re-circ 1 on 2 and still the same hiss so yeah suppose its gotta be a leak. So nothin 2 do wit the turbo bein on way out or intercooler then??

What car have you got ??
I had a split vacuum hose at the top fof the charge pipe, it was the one that goes to the N75 valve.

Thats the valve quite close to the DV right? and i know its obvious wot ya ssayin but dont suppose ya have a pic knockin round of the hose it was?

The small hose at the top is the one that i had split

The black thing above the DV is the N75

Have a check of all the boost hoses. My mate worked at Skoda and said the clips and 'O' rings break down and get weak and leak. Sometimes get an oil leakage from the pipes too. I've seen a Passat with a split boost hose just after the turbo that made loads of noise and loss of power. Quite hard to find until stripping all the pipes out to check them.
