As my headlight bulb has blown I have thought about getting a HID conversion, i understand from a mate you can simply buy these kits ranging from £100-250. does anyone know any good suppliers ?

also last time i changed a side light i lost the small metal clip that holds the plastic cover on - so i never bothered to put it back on. turns out this is the side the lamp blew in... do the covers do anything like protect the bulbs ?

do we have a friendly SEAT oem supplier here on the forum that can assist ?
:p

There is a group buy (or was a group buy) in the group buy section

I have a H.I.D kit on my MK4 beeza, and the bulbs are a little big, but we just poked the metal within the holder, pushed it out enough to make it fit!

without sounding completly stupid what do you mean by pushing the metal out to make it fit? i have to admit i havent seen the insides of the housing as it appears really difficult to get inside there with the battery etc in the way..

inside the headlamp there is a circular shield with lots of holes in it, the bulb hides behind and its that thats too close so a longer bulb touches it.

is touching the metal thingy likely to cause any problems? do i need to run cables out to the battery, if so where did youget the cables to run to from the otherside of the car ?

Hey all! My first post on here so thought id join in with this discussion!
I have recently fited a 2nd set of H7 HID bulbs in my PD Cupra and found a company on ebay selling the Interpower set.
I bought the 8000k ones but they do the 6000k ones too (if you ask them).
I had a set of cheap HIDs in my car for a while and they were a little rubbish and not that much better than my Osram Silverstars i had in their place before but these Interpower ones....! WOW!!!! AMAZING diference!!!
Fitting was easy, all clips onto existing sockets and cant be done wrong!
dont buy a cheep set from any any old place, get these ones (revewed by a mag as the best too apparently..). You wont be disapointed!

Guys, anyone looking to git HID's to the Ibiza ( with sport lights )

Simply go to HIDS4U and get the upgrade kit and specify H7-R bulbs. They are H7 bulbs but actually reduced in length so they do not hit the glare box cover and short out. Cracking kits and i believe if you search on group buys there is still a link to get the kit fore £189.99 delivered. But please use a Debit card when paying as they get charged and they are already doing a great discount for SCN.

is there a guide available on how to fit these and remove the mk4 ibiza headlights, . i tried taking the actual head lights out but the wires are so short it appears to keep everything in without much movement

you don't need to take the headlights off to fit HIDS.

If you do need to remove em, its a bumper off job. ( so about 5 mins for me as i have removed the bumpers forma a mk4 about 20 odd times now)

I have fitted HIDS this weekend to my Tolly and the difference is phenomenol. I had silverstars in (massive improvement on OEM bulbs) but driving through the new forest tonight on way back from the gf's parents the difference is even more amazing. I used to have to use mains and dipped on most of the roads but now dipped was sufficent. I was lighting up signs about 1/2 mile away and just see a white blob!

Switching on the mains made no difference to what I could see! I might in future do the mains too.

I got a pic but haven't got it off my phone yet.

One of the best safety related changes you can make! I did buy Devonmikeyboys old kit of him and it was a pleasure. Do it now!

I am no mechanic and avoid doing work on my car if I can avoid it but I did it and took me about 45 minutes (30 minutes first side and 15 the second :p ) and was dead simple. Get the HIDs4U kit and it it just cliips in.

Money well spent and after all they can be moved from car to car so its more of an investment than anything else :)

Devonmikeyboy had em on a PD160 cupra and said it made a huge difference. To be fair the the leon/tolly reflectors aren't amazing but honestly the difference is that different.

Should have done a before and after shot. Its the quality of the light thats as important as the reflector.

Picture sort of shows the difference but will get a better one. Thats with HIDS on and Silverstar H1 main. As you can see the HID drowns the silverstars out and the light is lovely and white in comparison. Will try and get some better pics in day tomorrow of colour difference and some night shots of the light.
