When i lowered my old mk2 1.4, spax shocks cut springs and cut bump stops - THEN and only then was i satisfied with how low it went.
It was so low that, the front wheels were 7x17" and rubbed NOT on the arch liner but rubbed on the chassis when going straight with a passenger.

Cutting springs is just as dangerous as trying to corner at 100mph with no tyres. You alter the spring rates etc by shortening them.

And rubbing on the chassis? thats just criminal.

Buy proper suspension kits or bloody coilovers if you want it that low, don't endanger other people.
