When i brake a get a horrible clicking noise and then again when i take up drive. it comes from both sides at the front. Ive changed the wishbone bushes, checked the ball joints. Greased up the subframe mountings but nothing works. the noise sounds really quite bad. it is as if something moves forward when i brake and then moves back again when i take up drive. The noise only happens when your driving. It sound similar to when a cv is clicking but im convinced its not these because it doesn't do it when you put it on full lock like a cv would. plus you don't normally get both cv's going at the same time.
Anyone had anything like this with their car. please help.

Would the top mounts do this ?
My old car used to do somthing like this but i sold it before i had a chance to find out, i was told it might be top mounts

i went out with my dad today in it and the noise sounds from lower down from inside and outside the car. and the wheel moves back about an inch on each side whan you brake. which i wouldn't of expected it to do. i only changed the bushes towards the back of the wishbone and not the ones nearest the front of the car so i think im going to invest in two new wishbones and try that. that way i can rule them out if the noise is still there.

It would have been the front bushes mate. If youve still got the old wishbones, stick a screwdriver through the hole and twist them, you'll see the tears.
