Hello Guys
i have a 2001 cupra 20vt and ive just noticed that the humming noise (pump?) that used to run after id turned the car off has stopped running. does anyone know what this part is and what would cause it to stop running
ive spoken to seat and they reckon that nothing should pump round after the ignitions been turned off so im confused does anyone know what this pump does or if it should work after turn off?
cheers for your help
its the secondary water pump....theres a 30A fuse that is on top of the battery. The reason it usually stops working is because this fuse has blown or melted
thanks for all your help ive taken the top off the fuse box and its melted ive managed to clean up the contacts and it does hold a fuse. im gonna try a lower fuse like a 25 amp so that it blows earlier next time instead of melting
it'll prob just melt again, when mine melted i was because i needed a new cooling fan, replace that and its been fine since although it was about £400 for the fan and fuse holder and fitting etc.
