Ive had an ecu light on for a while, with no decrease in performance/running, well not noticable anyway!
I bought a fault code reader off ebay for around £35, and logged the recurring fault as the coolant temperature sender. I would plug the fault code reader in to clear the code and 24-48hrs later the light would come back up!

I checked on here to find the problem and its down to the temperature sensor and that it needed upgrading to the green sensor. I changed it to the green sensor and cleared the fault and its solved the problem!

If yours is not running any differently it could be down to the same sensor? Supposedly a very common fault on VAG cars. If you dont have vag com, 1 of these fault code readers is worth its weight in gold!

Im sure the 225 car comes with the uprated green sensor. The 210 definitely does not. It is worth checking though!
