Need some help people.

Ive got a black mk3 cupra and as all of you with black cars you will know that they are a bitch to keep clean.
I aint got a problem cleaning it, its just covered in swirl marks. Mates have pointed it out to me and it really bugging me.

I need to know what products will get rid of them and ways to get it done. I havent got a clue if it worth getting a bodyshop to do it or just invest in loads of products.

Any idea how much a bodyshop would charge. (Hertfordshire area)

Help someone please???

A body shop would proberbly put more swirls in than they'd take out

To remove Swirls and paint defcts you will need a machine polisher like the PC 7424, coupled with the polish and pads you need you will spend around 250 quid on getting started.

The alternative is to get some with a said equipment to sort it for you.

Gary from refined Reflections isn't too far away from you :)

if you fancy a drive my mate owns cleanworx detailing and regularly mantained my ibiza cupra to standards i didnt even think were possible, as any professional detailer worth his salt will tell you though, VAG paint is as hard as nails and it takes alot longer to get the desired finish, if you dont mind leaving the car with him though all day it wouldnt be a problem, the other option is hes more than willing to travel to you

some examples of his work

There are a few people who loiter around this forum section who offer mobile detailing and paint treatment. They should be cheaper than a bodyshop and will provide a first class job.

They will also leave the car in a state that makes it easier for you to maintain in the future.

Cheers for the feedback

I havent really got the cash to spend on having it professionally detailed at the minute. Even though i really need it done.
Trying to look for a cheeper alternative but i know it could end up costing me just as much if its not done properly.

Just want to get it sorted for the summer shows etc.

As others have said your best bet is a Porter Cable Polisher, and some good quality polishes. If your paints Black Magic depending on how bad the swirls are you may have limited success with Meguiars Scratch X, but too get the most from it you must take your time and apply with the proper pads etc. To do the whole car will take hours :( but it will be worth it.
