Hi guys,
My 04 cupra tdi is now smoking, a lot. An awful lot to be honest and it's become embarrassing.
I have an OBD reader which is coming up clear bar cylinder 3 glow plug faultt. Thts not the issue here!
She's been mapped for a few years and a few months back the turbo melted down and had to be re-built. Over the last couple of months I have noticed a bit more smoke out the back than usual but now under any acceleration she kicks so much soot out I know there's an issue.
I don't really seem to be down on power so from a quick look under the hood thie evening I cant see any boost pipes that have come off. If they had I would expect a drastic loss of power and likely limp mode?
What I have seen however is a pipe that just doesn't seem to be sitting correctly. Ive taken some pics below to illustrate. Can anyone confirm if this is correctly seated as i cant get my hands to is to check for ay play! There appears to be some oil residue at the join and on the undertray there is some sign of oil leakage. However, could this pipe seating be a cause (and entry point of air) of the additional smoke and overfueling?
Base of the radiator in the area ringed:
Can see the pipe here. Can this be accessed by removing the undertray?:
Thanks for any and all help!
