Good afternoon all, Really hoping somone can help me!!
I have some very expensive noises comming from the gear box. In a striaght line its a gentle rummble from the front nearside like a wheel bearing is on the way out, but after further inverstigation the wheel bearing is fine.
The main issue is the heavy vibration when accelerating, most noticable in 5th at motorway speeds. the whole car shakes this is a little bit off putting.
Had it on ramps on saturday and when spinning the offending corner drive shaft by hand there is a very metalic rattle from the area of the diff.
if anyone has any ideas on what this could be it would be greatly appriciated and if possible does anyone know anyone who can do gearbox rebuilding.
Im from Berkshire so anyone with info on rebuild shops in the area please contact me.
