Hi again,

Havin blown my turbo, i now need to source a cheap second hand one. I intend to get one from ebay around £250. Hopefully it'll be worth my while travellin to collect the item and check it out.
Thing is my mechanic may not be able to get at turbo at mo, so really need to know what i can put on my mk4 ibiza pd100.
I thouht finding another mk4 beeza with the ATD engine code should guarantee im getting the right turbo, even if its from a later model car. i have a part number from seat, using my engine number, 038 253 056 a ,but i've seen another thread on here with it being something else, could this be because they use different manufacturers, but turbos are still compatible.
Also getting a pd130 turbo is that poss, as im on a re-map already, if so which one.

cheers

Not yet mate!! Mechanic has not been able to fully look at my car yet due other work commitments, so had it looked at by garage next door and they reckon there could be engine damage because of the rough idling and the fact there was no oil in engine, presumably sucked out by turbo,as i topped it up 2month ago. They recommended i get new engine or dump car as they couldn't guarantee fitting a turbo would get rid of rough idling.
Anyhow my mechanic says the garage next door love to replace engines, so not convinced.......yet!
Towing car to another garage tomorrow to get a second/third opinion and decide from there.
While your looking ,can a golfmk5 pd130 garett gt1749v turbo slot on or any other seat p130 turbos,i have remap already.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem but you'll need to change the injectors too.

It could be a money pit.

If you decided to go down that route then you might as well get a Garrett ARL 150 turbo.

A third opinion would always be helpful.

I would be very suprised at engine damage, when my turbo let go I drove mine for about 1 mile, by the time I got home the engine was knocking badly. Undeterred by this I got a hybrid turbo on an it was fine even though the mileage was 131k when the turbo went.
PD engines are very strong, and the rough idle could be down to lots of oil still in the cooler.
