Help for the noob

Hello,

Im a new owner of a leon cupra r which spends most its life sitting in my garage eating my money but thats beside the point lol

I have looked through the search function for the 2 questions i have but there seems to be quite a few mixed replies and different suggestions like 10mm spacer, 15mm spacer im not use to this im a Honda boy previously lol

My questions are:

Where can you buy a facial plate to change the old head-unit for a new one, because the old one is nasty, ebay doesn't seem to have the answer

Wheels, this seems a funny thing for leons because a starfish decided to give them odd ball specs

So 18'' et38 5x100 7.5 - Can i get away with 8'' without spacers? And what is the max et you can run on a leon also without spacers, i don't want the wheel sitting right in the arch but i dont want it protruding

As i said, i apologize in advance as i can imagine these get asked 45 times per week

I run
8j front 9J rear et35 all round on 225/40/18"

No rubbing on any arches fills them well , front wheel is very close to the coilover but clears by MM's

Hope that helps

My 8's only just miss the shock absorber so 8.5 will catch so would need a lower offset like a 30 but someone else will confirm that as I'm not sure

If you have a ET off 0 , where the face of the wheel meets the car hub is the middle of the wheel , when you go into the - so eg ET-7 (old school mini ) the centre of the wheel is closer to the inside of the wheel so sticks out more

Then vw ET30 is closer means the bolting face is closer to the spokes of the wheel so the wheel sticks in more but

Width is obviously wheel width but when you go say 8" to 9" its only half an inch wider each side of the wheel

If you know the spec of your current wheels

This will help you work out what will fit your car
