Hello and Eaziwrap Opinions

Hi, I’m new on the forum so wanted to say hello.

I’ve just agreed a trade-in of my 17 plate Audi TT, mid-life crisis car which I’ve finally conceded is impractical for me and the family, not to mention seriously underwhelming.

I identified a Cupra 290 as an ideal more practical, yet fast and exciting replacement. I’m a fan of the new Cupra grey and copper combo and lo and behold, after searching for cars online, there’s a 19 plate in Magnetic Grey with copper badges with 14K on the clock. So i figured it was meant to be!

I’ve spent the last few days immersing myself in all things Cupra and I stumbled across all the Eaziwrap vinyl stuff that people are putting on their black and grey Cupras. What’s people’s opinions on this?

Initially I thought it looks smart, I like the copper bits both outside and inside. Then I thought, we’ll I don’t want to go to all the cost and effort to look like everyone else and should I keep it understated?

Then I thought, how about going a bit unique but also pretty understated by putting black wrap on the bonnet and boot badges and the wheel badges effectively making it kind of my own ‘black edition’.

I can’t decide and might change my mind when I’ve got the car. Might not change anything on it.

Thoughts?

My insurance company told me that they don't insure wrapped cars. I'm sure plenty will but something to check. Don't want to be in an accident and find you're not covered.

I don't think wrapping the badges makes it a "wrapped car" but I agree that all modifications should be checked with ones insurance company.

My experience with cosmetic modifications on my FireBlade is that insurance companies will accept them but stipulate standard replacements in the event of damage. The car market may be different though.

Wow yeah I never thought about that, although all I’d be doing is applying removable stickers to badges if I was to go with the kind of stealth thing. I think that would be pretty cheeky of insurance company not to cover due this very small change, never know though I guess.

So if I was to do it I’d effectively be changing from the copper badges to gloss black on the magnetic grey car. Anybody seen this black on a grey Cupra? Not sure if it’s a good idea or not! 🤣

I've never been that fond of the gold. Looks a bit tacky in my opinion and only goes with certain colours.

Yeah that’s what I’m kinda thinking. With the already black mirrors and wheels and the black Cupra lettering it only needs a only a few stickers to make it like a black edition which I’ve sort of always wanted to get but never have on previous cars. Not sure why but it’s appealing especially with the tinted windows etc.

That’s what I’m thinking just now anyway. I might change my mind when I pick the car up! 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve had the call to say it will be ready tomorrow. Buzzing!!
