[HEEEELP] Is my engine broken ?

Owner of a Leon Cupra 5F DSG 2014

I follow all the maintenance recommendations given by the manufacturer and the on-board computer.

The other day, on the freeway, I accelerated to 180km/h and then the car stopped accelerating.

I run a diag, it runs on 3 cylinders and indicates misfires in all cylinders.

After dropping it off at a Seat dealer, he read the compressions: 11, 11, 11, 5.
The garage told me that a spark plug had broken in cylinder 4 (I didn't see the car, which was repatriated 2 hours from my home).

They're now giving me a quote to remove the cylinder head (900€) just to get a diagnosis.
As my car runs on Ethanol E85 and is in Stage 1 soft (360hp), Seat doesn't want to intervene and recommends a complete engine replacement (17000€).

I don't know what to do about this and I'll need your advice. Should I take it to another garage to have the extent of the repairs assessed (I'll need to count about 600€ for transport)?

What would you do in my place? How much could it cost in the best and worst case scenarios?
Thank you

Oh bugger!
I think i'd be looking for a good second hand engine.
Chances are the spark plug end has buggered the bore and/or piston.
I personally wouldn't be going through a main dealer with a 2014 car.

Damn....

Which plugs are these? I believe the situation with the "upgrade" RS6 plugs is a pretty known story.
Spark plugs are NGK Iridium.
I've had the car repatriated to a friend's garage, as the labour will be much cheaper.

After talking to the garage, they told me that this problem is fairly recurrent on EA888 Gen3 engines, especially when reprogrammed for ethanol.

I hadn't had the coils/spark plugs changed following the mapping.

I'm now looking for an engine to swap. My engine code is CJXA but I wonder if I can take any CJX?

Do you know where I can find used engines from professionals (warranty) in Europe? I'm based in France.

Not sure where you could source an engine that would come with a warranty. Best thing would be to find a car with rear crash damage, at least that way you know the engine was running before the crash.

Possibly, looks like it.

for example -
Looking at 2014 2.0 petrol - Base engine part number 06K100033G links with CJXA,CJXE & CJXH. This supersedes to 06K100038R which is also linked to CJXC,CJXH & CJXG on 2019 model years.

That is really really bad. Engine has serious rod knock. Will probably explode if it runs for much longer.

If they won't refund it then you may have to take them to court. That is a scrap engine, cleary not been reconditioned or even started.

Not sure on the laws in france, but here in england if you use a debit/credit card your bank can issue a chargeback against the supplier.
