Heater Resistor For Fan Speed Broken

Hello i have a problem with my heater blower being constantly on the highest speed. I have found that this problem is caused by the heater resistor part No 6Q2907521.
My real question is how do you remove this part. Is it a full dash out job or can it be extracted through some other way because it looks very tight on space and it looks to come out actually into the housing of the cabin filter. Any help would be gratefull as i have the new part waiting but don't really want to pay £200 for someone to take my dash off.

Yes i can see it the big metal block. But how do you get it out of there to put a new one in any ideas?

Just an update on this. It is a full dash out job to replace this.

Yeap! You have to take all the dash board out! :-( I speak from experience..... and costly experience... :-((((

It isn't at all. I managed to unscrew and pull out the resistor from the pollen filter housing. One plug and 2 wire snips and it's out

Did you mean you don't took all the dash board out???
And the problem is that when you take all the dash board out you have to put it back with the proper way (i mean if you forgot something.. p.g. some screws, or some clips out..) then as you driving... ''oh! What is that sound coming from the dash board, what is that creaking noise??'' i'm very suspicious now...
I'm going tomorrow and take a new resistor from the dealership..

Look at that picture that's the resistor (for the climate control only , not manual controls) I
Managed to get my hand into the pollen filter housing and unscrew. I snipped the red and blue wires due to me being frustrated and wanting it out! Got a brand new replacement off eBay for 50 pounds. Still waiting on the part
