lol, no probs.

Looking at it, I can't see why not. The s3 is the same as the LCR, but I think the intake pipe is in the same place.

yes it will fit. the hole is in the same place but is 10mm bigger on the lcr and s3, but that wont be a problem as your maf has a rim that will cover the gap. also if you wanted you could bolt the maf to the shield, this is how my maf fits to the neuspeed heat shield.

That's the one from another thread recently I think. Was mentioned in that one that there is no bottom panel on it so that would mean hit air could rise into the cool compartment. I actually had an offer of £22 accepted but I pulled out after I read about the bottom panel. I think I'm going to try and have a go at making my own.

a tray on the bottom wont make a difference. the turbo will heat the air that enters the intake system, on a na car it will help. i only use a heat shield 1 because it looks good. 2 it secures the maf and helps prolong its life. some people think, if you add a heat shield it will resist heat, the air on the filter side becomes freezing  , the sheild its self will be as hot as the bay. i run a neuspeed shield with no bottom tray and my intake temps are very good on power runs, cooling is down to the intercoolers :D

Cool - I wasnt especially sure, but thought I would give it a go myself as the ones that I have seen done look a lot nicer tbh. But for the price its good value if you dont have the time or inclination (as I ususally dont :))

i just got some drawings off RDS on here, traced it out on a bit of cardboard, bent it up and looks pretty good, going to get some Aluminium or Catering grade stainless steel and make my own, for the time being ill leave the filter sat in the bottom half of the airbox
