Am I the only V5 owner with rubbish distance on the headlights ? I have adjusted to 0 and still seems to be poor distance visibility. I'm wondering what I can do and whether other drivers suffer the same issue.

1) Get the headlights checked and realigned if necessary
2) Buy brighter bulbs, if so what and where to get them
3) Is there any Xenon options available for a 2000 model ?

Thanks

Nick

You can buy cheap Xenon bulbs, but they don't make much difference.

I tried some off Ebay, still got them fitted, but thinking of changing them back.

Only real option is to go for HID's, lots of guys on here have done it.
They make an massive difference. Thinking about some myself !

First off get em aligned correctly as makes a big difference and then I fitted HIDs. See the HID faq in Leon section for details of how and what I did with pics of end result.

I had Osram SilverStars in there before and they were good but HIDs are just awesome!

I had that problem on mine
got under the hood and undid the screws along the top of the light unit. you can then move it very slightly up and then screw it up again and solves you problem a little.
but still not amazing

On these HID's, can you change the direction of the lights for driving abroad rather than use the tape over the headlamp? On standard fit Xenons you can switch them over.

Had a similar problem, I moved my car upto a wall and tweaked the lights up a little. Then bought a complete white/blue bulb kit from eBay. Cost around £20 for a full set and I must admit they made a bigger difference than I thought!

I went the Philips route for bulbs as recommended bu Autoexpress, 50% brighter and it certainly made a difference on mine.

Stick a set of Cibie Super Oscars on the front? Unobtrusive yet effective... ;)
