headlight warning buzzer doesn't work!

Hi peeps,

I've noticed that the headlight warning buzzer doesn't work on my 53 plate 1.8T Cupra. Any suggestions what to check?? My last car (awful Corsa diesel) had the same problem but I never got around to fixing it and as a result ended up calling the RAC out about 5 times last winter to start the thing!!

have you added any devices to the car recently? I have a Turbo timer and the headlight buzzer doesn't work unless the engine is actually off.

No, nothing. The car is completely standard.

Any other ideas?

check its not the door activated switches, same thing happened on my golf, after leaing the lights on about twenty times i finally got off my @rse and lubed up the swich on the drivers door, bingo, irritating buzzer restored!

That makes sense actually, I've also noticed that the red safety light at the bottom of the drivers door isn't working, so must be some kind of sensor, although the interior light does come on when the door is open which is a bit weird as I would have thought they all work off the same sensor??
