Head Unit & Ipod Help Please

Nathan

Leon Cupra R 225
Hi,

I am currently looking for a new head unit to couple with my Ipod nano. Havn't seen one working yet, but from what I have heard you can only do backwards and forward through the tracks. Seen the alpine full speed system and this sounds good, but the only one they do it with has a pretty rubbish screen.

Looking to spend around 300-350 squid!!

Can anyone advise of a good set up?

Cheers.

The Alpine iPod full speed headunits are at max around the £200 mark (mainly below). The high end units such as the CDA-9855R and CDA-9857R require the use of the KCA-120i iPod adapter which is roughly £60.

Becker Mexico Pro, the intergration with an Ipod is awesome. Plus the HU is trully great, and not tacky at all. I'm not a big fan of the all singing all dancing headunits with flashing lights. The Becker just ooozes class!

Becker Mexico Pro - £249 - Car Audio Direct
Becker Ipod Controller - £63 - Bass Bin Car Audio

Trust me, its brilliant! ;)

How do you search Playlist/Artist/Song/Album on the Becker unit?

It says only track change, Title display and charging functions for the iPod on the review i found?

I've got a CDR-9855R and although I hate the glidetouch system on it I have used the CDR-9857R and that has a much better system to navigate the ipod menus. Both require the KCA-120i adapter and isn't as fast as the fullspeed function on some of the lower models of the Alpine range.
At the moment I believe the Alpine units are the only ones that actually display all the information contained within the mp3 tag bar the copyrights etc which I think is rather good seeing as I have lots of albums on my 'pod by the same artists so it doesn't make it so confusing.
