Hi Greytop

I got some headlight protectors for Seat which come with the black plastic stickers that fit over the lens. The protectors even have the areas marked off as to were the stickers go. Cosr around £35.

Hope this is of help.

But do they correctly alter the xenon's beam or do these lights need altering mechanically / electrically?

Yeah I tried cutting and sticking insulting tape to the correct places as reported in the manual but they created a very odd beam pattern indeed! It totally obscured my vision of either side of the road and most in front too!

Be careful out there when in France. I have taken this item from another forum plus I understand its a instant fine of approx £500 :(. This is for even a minor error in speed.

"Get caught doing 50 kph over the limit in France today and you get an instant ban. And they really do mean instant. There's no opportunity to give home first, or wait for a formal penatly notice. No you just hand over the keys tothe gendarne who stropped you, collect your belongings and start walking."

Shouldnt amit to it but once over in France the roads are a lot quietter and in the past it was time for so great high speed drivivg. There are some fantastic roads and down towards the alps there still some lovely moutainous roads and hairbends that need to be driven

La Rochelle is a lovely place, anyone else go there because of the tricolour books from school? I did :)

My car is fully of rubbish needed to drive though various countries in europe, I've got the spare bulb kits for France, fire extinguisher for Germany, yellow jackets for Spain and Belgium. Then there's the warning triangle, first aid kit for I can't even remember which country.

Yes France seems to be a fairly regular holiday destination for us (more or less every other year for as lon as I care to mention). Also some years ago I used to work for a French company based in southern Paris, did the odd ferry/ drive trip over there too.
Just a few weeks ago I did a fair bit of driving in Germany, Munich to the Black Forest (Frieburg area). Wasn't in the Leon though :(, fly-drive and an Audi A3. Some great roads around the Black Forest though.
