just been on the phone to my good mate, he knows a fair bit about cars does all his own work on his type r and most of the work on mine
he said the white smoke/steam is probably just a build up of condensation that has gathered inside the exhaust system, with all this cold weather we've been recently having it has made things worse, plus if your car has just been sat about for weeks on end unused this will not
help matters and if you wash your car regulary it can also get trapped in the system, he said the way the exhaust system is mounted on the leon and curves back means any water in the exhaust can get trapped in there and can not easily drain away, therefore when you drive the car & on idle you get the white smoke/steam bellowing out of the exhaust, thinking head gasket or blown turbo
problem, he suggested a good drive for a long period with a wide range of rpm's should
help to clear any blocked water and hopefully it will settle down to normal
as im a bit concerned about mine to thought i would investigate further!
