hazards flashing randomly

Hi folks,

I have a Shalhambraxy with a problem. (2001 alhambra 1.9D, the 96-01 model)

The warning lights randomly flash while driving. Totally random, except that the windscreen washers seem to trigger it ocassionally. Other than than the indicators and hazards work perfectly if turned on manually.

When it randomly happens, sometimes they turn on (as if normally) for a few flashes, other times they flash on & off quickly but not like quickly when a bulb is out or the relay is gubbed, but the quick flashing seems to be caused by the hazards being 'triggered' a few times before they've stopped the current flash.

I've stripped down the fuse box, looked at wiring, circuit board in behind fuses etc, can't see any problems, no fuses gone, nothing loose at all..

Any suggestions before I pay an autospark?!

thanks folks!

"alarm control box" page 3 or 4 in this Alhambra section, would paste the link but I couldn't due to low post count.
