Have I been fobbed off?

Hi guys,

I took my LCR into the dealer for them to take a look at some work under warranty. Here's what it went in for:

Loose door seal on the front nearside
Very noisy A/C
Weird 'creak' from the suspension

They are going to replace the door seal and, apparently, the A/C is down to a faulty controller which they are also going to replace.

What I'd like some advice on is the 'creaking' noise. It does it over speed bumps and when you take off at speed from standing. From doing some reseach it sounds like the anti-roll bar bushes. The dealer told me that they will lubricate some bushes but wouldn't confirm which ones they are doing.

It goes back in next week. Should I be pushing for more permanent work than lubricating if it is the anti-roll bar bushes? My warranty will be up in September and don't want it to reoccur after it runs out.

My old Hyundai Coupe used to creak and lubricating the anti roll bar bushes solved it for probably only a few thousand miles.
Doubt they'll do more than that though.

it may well be the lubricant. Also ask them to chuck some copper grease under the springs.

If your taking it in have a word with the guy. explan to him that your warrenty is up in september and youd like him to have a look around see if anything else needs doing. If you get a nice guy then he will. I got a steering rack replaced underwarrenty on my corsa by asking him to look at the usual problems before it ran out.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've got mechanic mate and he's going to go over it a few months before the warranty runs out so that I can just go in and tell them what's wrong.

I had a creak on my LC a month back they replaced the anti roll bar bushes straight away and the creak noise seemed to be one for the brackets holding the exhaust up just passed the cat one so they sorted that aswell. Alls good now and running fine, its worth pushing for more as you will be gutted if you have to pay out for replacing bits once your warrenty's run out.

Had my arb replaced under warranty last month, get it done.
