ive always thought since i built a kit car at UNI that was RWD that itd be mint to do it to my car. its not an issue atthe mo, havent even looked into it or anything but i did think if it could bedone, a MK2 ibiza would be a hell of a lotof fun.

SO...

Has anyone ever done it?

ha, looks well sketchy, wouldnt like to corner too quick in that!

at UNI we built a kit car that was RWD but never got to drive it, bet it was sooo much fun to drive. i just think it would be so different, and you could play with it for ages :)

im not sure what youd do or how youd do it, cos the gearbox comes out at 90' to where it would need to be. pretty pointless tho if it was a new engine and gearbox jobbi as it woulnt be the same car really then.

will look into the one being built

usually either motorbike motors or any car combination

have driven one with a small block v8 in the back - WELL scary

drive out back to a fixed shaft and couple of big machine bearings and out to short drive shafts - or a small diff (ford stuff mostly)

great fun flat out in wet mud roostertailing there is few about with 2 (yes 2) hyabusa or fireblade motors

you can have a go yaself with a baby one in the sprints (bit like race of champions) http://www.ukrallysprint.com/default.htm

cool,
the one we built had a cosworth engine in it, took ages to get it to fit with the oversized pulleys and whatnot. that had as what you said above with the main prop shaft and diff at the back. i reckon itd be pretty easy to do if i just researched loads and invested in a welder.

research is the key - and youd be surprised what ideas and solutions you can come up with

seen a few escorts/corsas etc converted to RWD - gartrac used to be a common name - seem to remember the released a puma shell ready to bolt on cossie 4*4 running gear

the end of the day - imagination is simply the limit
