as title... has anyone actually ever bike carb'd their mk2 ibiza? Im thinking along the lines of the 2l / 1.8 versions...

im doing the same thing to a mk1 golf running an ABF engine, but its the same engine as some of the GTi's so figured someone might have done it on theirs?

Nice and easy to do in all honesty but cant remember anyone on here ever doing it

:D

Why would you wanna do it? Bike Carbs suck for driveability and don't usually gain you much in outright power. Better off going throttle bodies and ecu such as megasquirt.

considered it but stuck the standard manifolds on to make sure i'd bolted it together properly first and to be honest couldn't be arsed after that

made it all myself, but a break down of the cost would be to convert the ABF

Carbs: 50
180 Jets: 12
Throttle accessories: 5

Inlet flange: 40
Inlet gasket: 8
Stainless steel for runners: 15
Welding: 45
Silicone hose and clips: 15

KR ignition controller: 25
KR distributor: 25

Thats pretty much it... that should see around 170/180 horse and more if tuned

You can make most of that back by selling the inlet off the ABF... simples

also if not tuned well... youll see in the region of 20mpg ;)
