Spare a thought for poor old Rich, Zboyd & Syphon. Up all night tossing and turning each with the same dilema....... Revo or APR

Its got to be APR guys especially as they have just released the code on Awesomes web site. ;)

Seriously, nice figs Rich. :D Stage 2 LCR bhp as standard! :redcard:

Cheers Karl.

Jim did keep on asking me if I wanted the trial loading on for my journey home lol, but I managed to resist, even though my car was plugged into the big APR computer at the time too hehehe.

Mine been on got 316bhp that with Revo :D

I've been Revo'd also and just wondered what the RR had to say, 316bhp eh:thumbup:!

Has there been any reports of Diveter Valve failings yet, especiallly when mapped....My car feels slightly lazier at the mo and the turbo seems to be giving off a fluttering type noise when flooring it, have you expeienced this?
(I am slightly paranoid as i've had this style 2.0T engine on another car and been through a few DV's)

I might look at the Forge DV but what else should i do to help the car with my constant torture upon it

That must have taken alot of will power, lesser mortals like myself would have been suduced by the Big APR Computer. :ban: I've just decided that this is psychological abuse by Awesome, getting you when your at your weakest and tempting you with a press of a button. Good job it wasn't Vern in your position, he'd be towing the computer up the road before it had chance to finish downloading the trial ;).

TBH, I found it quite easy, the car still feels fast. If I had it remapped now it would spoil my fun. I'll get used to it as it is, then remap it and it'll feel like a new car again lol.

Does it feel as fast as the LCR did.

This is the million dollar question Carl. Not sure if you know, but I had a Bora 150PD after my LCR so I have been out of a petrol for about 18mth's (I missed the petrol car) But it does feel very rapid, but without the amount of torque that the LCR had, it is hard to describe. It feels as fast, but needs more revs to do it in, maybe due to not as much torque.

It does feel a little like chalk and cheese compared to the LCR, quite a bit different. This wants to live higher up the rev range and rewards you if you keep it singing, whereas the LCR wanted another gear.

Although having said this, 98% of the time I have my daughter in the car with me, so then I am like driving Miss Daisy (much like I was in the LCR lol) So the car has been run in steadily. I could really do with getting out more by myself and bedding the engine.

You did ask LOL.

I can't fully describe the difference (esp after a few bevvies)

Have you been in the MK2 for a test drive??? Have you still got your LCR???

No test drive as yet, the dealers are mothering them down here. I've still got the LCR and fitted a K04 hybrid to it, it feels very quick, i'd be guessing at about 280 bhp using awesome dyno as a ref. I do warm a little more to the new cupra each time i see it. i think I'll wait another 9 months or so and look to buy a low miler. the small amount of milage i do will take an age to run a new one in so second hand is the way for me.
Thats a nice comparison of both cars, the new cupra does seem like the natural lcr progression and the 300bhp remap potential and its handling abilities makes it a winner for me.

Compared to my Stage 2 LCR, its obviously not got the sheer grunt. But in standard trim, its racier, revs more freely and spools quickly. I'd say the R would have the edge at the moment due to sheer torque figures. But a Stage 2 new Cupra. whoa horsey. ;)

A mate of mine at work said to me that my car is currently the best looking hot hatch on the market today. I must admit, I have to agree with him:D

Yer, TBH honest I first clapped eyes on the MK2 I didn't like it, I thought they had ruined it, but the more I saw it, the more it grew on me, and now I really do think it's better than my LCR, with the small things like the Bluetooth and the headlights really are amazing. Brightest I have ever had.
