how fast were you going when you crashed? The bumper is a fairly flexible thing so you might have damaged the bodywork behind it before it popped back into shape. Check the alignment of headlights/panel fit of the wings/bonnet closure, any slight misalignment could be a tell-tale sign of more damage than just the bumper!

If you're lucky it's just the bumper, a new one sprayed and fitted should be less than £350.

If you're really really lucky the bumper itself might be repairable.

Find yourself a reputable bodyshop and get an estimate!

They'll probably want to take the front bumper off to inspect for further damage. They might do this for free (but i doubt it).

Once you've got the estimate, get a second opinion.

cool, ill take it around a few places, i was doing about 10 miles an hour, the other was doing about 25 miles an hour so nothing really, everything else is fine, no damage at all

thats a closing speed of 35 miles an hour. imagine hitting a wall at 35!

not that straightforward due to crumple zones and you might not have hit head on etc... but the damage could be more than you think. good luck fella

I'd advise you not have bodywork done by the dealer as they will charge loads.

I had a prang in my last car and VW wanted £800+ for it to be repaired (front bumper, front-right indicator & driverside wing + paint). I went to an independant bodyshop near to where I live and he did it for under £400.
