don't leave valubles in the boot.....its easy for crims to detect bluetooth devices..they just use their phones..if your lappy was sleeping with the lid closed then maybe they detected it...they were probably looking for satnavs anyway which are the new 'craze' steal for junkies now.......

Bit of a nightmare then this one. Wondering if the same "feature" is on the new Leon?
Also, when I reported the laptop gone, the security folks at my company said that apparently it's not necessarily the Bluetooth they can pick up from laptops, but the Lithium Battery emmisions.

blimmin eck - need to keep my laptop battery in my pocket as well as my HU fascia now!
I must admit, I'd never consider leaving my laptop in the car. Far too preciousssssss to me :(

Is the stock Leon HU desirable enough to consider taking the fascia bit out then?

Correct me if I'm wrong but this has been a problem for well over 8 years now on certain VAG models. I used to have a '98 T reg Polo which had the same type of locks. I can't believe after this long VAG has done little if nothing to rectify it and to claim it as a built-in feature is just plain stupid. What for the car thieves?

has everyone who has delocked used the members guide for door/ window fuse relocation or has anyone done it different?
i suppose it looks easy enough (2 terminals on wire into fuse holder and new holder with fuse relocated - just thought there might be a better way?

thanks

got rid of that ages ago, but they are about 400 quid new from a dealer :wtf:

it's more the 'pain in the arse' factor of having your car broken into and the stereo ripped out and having to repair the damage

nobody's really going to want to nick a stereo with no fascia when there are so many in other cars with them left in.

Always been a problem since the days of the MK2 Golf with 'similar' issues i'm afraid.

It's not DIN sized so won't fit many cars, not necessary IMO......then again they'd break into your car for £2 in change if you left it visable
