Grudge hair coming from me exhaust ?

Few days ago i noticed something black and stringy (which looks like grudge hair) coming from my exhaust....at first i thought someone must have stuck it up there...but then a few days later it was there again. And now my car sometimes feels like its missing power.

Anyhooo after going to a garage and asking a mechanic he said it was my back box or middle box thats on its way out....something to do with the silencer stuff inside it coming.

Is this common on ibiza's?

im getting a new back box anyway so not to worried.

baffles are in the backbox to keep the sound levels low lol thats why if you change your exhaust to an aftermarket one with less baffles it sounds more beefier. on a fiesta courtesy car i blew the baffles out and there were long strands of em coming out the exhaust LOL was quite funny

Sounds like the material that silencers are packed with. Just a sign of a knackered exhaust.

I did that on my old almera, scared the hell outta me when it first happened.

And yeah, as other people have said, its the sound deadening from inside the backbox, time for a new backbox mate

same stuff came out of my gf's car a few weeks back, just pulled it out and it passed the MOT last week no problem!!
