GPS and signal detection not working

Hi,

I'm a owner of a Seat Leon 1.5 TSI from nov 2020.

This is the third time that happens the same with the car. I'm driving, and suddenly, I got a message in the dashboard: "There is not data available from the zone", and the signal detection stops working. Also, if I try to use the GPS with one of the previously used destinations, I got the error "The route could not be calculated" (sorry for the translation, I'm spanish). This could happen for several days or not.

Does anybod had such errors?

Dealer has update the MIB unit twice, but it hasn't resolved the issue.

I'm fed up that SEAT is not solving the issue.

With the help of a diagnostics device, such as OBD11, you can take a look at the live data and check if the infotainment unit receives GPS coordinates correctly (most probably from a control unit for online services, not a separate GPS receiver as in previous generation Leon). This may be a good starting point to investigate the problem.

Can't you view the GPS parameters on the mib3 in the service menu like you did on the mib2

Don't remember what was on MIB2 service menu regarding the GPS and whether it would be enough to diagnose a problem there.

Green Engineering Menu is not activated by default. To activate it you need a capable diagnostics device anyway.

That wasn't what I was talking about. It was more about whether it could be properly assessed via the Green Menu. Because then, if the situation suddenly requires it, you can check without a diagnostic system.

Yes, I agree on that. But there may be circumstances that you need to be looking at something in or selecting something from infotainment menu and see the data at the same time. That's when the live data in another screen would be required.

Then you need to start looking at things the moment it happens. By the way, you said that the dealer had tried to update the infotainment unit but the problem may not be there. I'd suspect that the telematics unit started to show signs of failing, with those intermittent problems.
