Good news, followed by BAD NEWS

well i got my new exhaust fitted today, (magnex oval), but as i was driving home from the garage and i've had a banging and knocking noise coming from just below the footwell, on the rear seat (passanger side) its definately not the noise from the exhaust its a clanging noise and happens at low revs as i come off the clutch in all gears, as i get to high revs it stops? i'm gonna take it back in tomorrow, but has anybody got any idea what it is? its not the back box its somthing to do with the pipe, but i've checked it breifly when i got back and its all stable and seems fine? any comments will be really helpfull, as i don't want to risk anything serious happening.

sounds like mine does.... go round corner hard, accelerate hard, hit water pudldles in heavy rain etc exhaust bangs & knocks. think its related to engine mounts moving too much? all fine when stationary you can move it as much as you like , no noise.

Mine did that after I had the Janspeed fitted - it might be one of the exhaust clamps!

normally its the centre silencer that has been set too far back and on the exhaust tunnel there are two strenghtheners/ supports and the rear of the silencer touches the rear one when accelerating

well i took it back to the place i got it fitted, and they messed about with it a bit, but basically it's the mid silencer thats rattling, so they tightened everything up, and its still rattling a bit, but not half as much. the bloke said he could take the mid silencer off and then there wouldn't be any rattles, but thats just more money and more noise for the police to have a go.

mines got that too after i fitted on my powerflow exhaust, pissed me off too ...i went back there 3times to sort it out, it just keeps coming back after a while and i bet urs is okish now but will come back soon.

yeah its been ok, but latley as i'm just waiting in a traffic jam or car is just stationary with engine running, it decides to rattle as the revs are so low, getting on my nerves! should have just left it how it was a put a hole in the exhaust to get the nice sound!
